Monitor Money
Tim Titheradge – Monitor Money
With a background in law, Tim joined Monitor Money as a Financial Planner in our Canberra office in 1983. In 1984 he was made the company’s youngest ever Regional Manager and established himself as one of our most successful Financial Planners. During this time he accumulated the hands on experience of dealing directly with clients and their financial planning needs that continues to underpin his understanding of the fundamentals of our industry to this day.
In 1988 he moved to Sydney as General Manager – Agency, and served in this position under the periods of ownership of Paul Terry, Capita and MLC in turn. This corporate experience enabled him and his four fellow Directors to take over the running of Monitor Money in a management buyout in 1991, at which time Tim was appointed Executive Director, with specific responsibility for the financial planning and marketing areas of the business. He was subsequently appointed Managing Director of Monitor Money, overseeing the complete rationalisation of the business and enshrining it as one of the most successful and stable financial planning businesses in Australia.
As part of this role he was actively involved in the Principals Forum of the Financial Planning Association of Australia, and he holds our industry’s highest qualification, Certified Financial Planner (CFP). In addition to his financial planning and corporate industry skills, Tim also has agricultural, retail, and importing business interests, and is Vice–President of the Chianina Cattle Society of Australia.
In February 2001 Tim sold his shareholding in Monitor Money to fulfil a long-term goal and enable a lifestyle change to enjoy his other great passion in life – farming on his Goulburn property.
